Ark Pottery Wiggaton, Ottery St Mary
The Ark Pottery is a cottage industry set in the delightful village ofWiggaton. Run by Vaughan and Angela Glanville from a Devon longhouse dairybuilding you can enjoy a whole range of unique pottery and ceramics. Vaughan and Angela have many years of experience in ceramics making somereally unusual and visually stunning pieces. The Ark Pottery has theirstudio and gallery and is open to the public. Watch Vaughan throwing pots ona traditional potter's wheel. Angela designs and makes ceramics and animalfigures. Being a small, cottage industry they really care about theirvisitors. They always have time to talk to you and are happy to takecommissions for individual pieces. My daughter has had several vases madeespecially for her and has always been extremely pleased with the results. In the Gallery at Ark Pottery you can see interesting displays andexhibitions of work by Vaughan and Angela and occasionally from other localceramic artists. The pieces that you see here are 'one off' designs and arenot available anywhere else. Why not stay and enjoy a cup of tea while you're there. There is a beautifulgarden when the weather is fine. You can imagine yourself in a paradise asthere is very little traffic passing and trees filled with singing birdssurround you. If the weather is not fine enough to sit in the garden thentea and coffee can be served in the Gallery. Open daily 10am - 5pm and other times by appointment.
