The Ark Pottery is a cottage industry set in the delightful village of
Wiggaton. Run by Vaughan and Angela Glanville from a Devon longhouse dairy
building you can enjoy a whole range of unique pottery and ceramics.
Vaughan and Angela have many years of experience in ceramics making some
really unusual and visually stunning pieces. The Ark Pottery has their
studio and gallery and is open to the public. Watch Vaughan throwing pots on
a traditional potter's wheel. Angela designs and makes ceramics and animal
Being a small, cottage industry they really care about their
visitors. They always have time to talk to you and are happy to take commissions for individual pieces. My daughter has had several vases made
especially for her and has always been extremely pleased with the results.
In the Gallery at Ark Pottery you can see interesting displays and
exhibitions of work by Vaughan and Angela and occasionally from other local
ceramic artists. The pieces that you see here are 'one off' designs and are
not available anywhere else.
Why not stay and enjoy a cup of tea while you're there. There is a beautiful
garden when the weather is fine. You can imagine yourself in a paradise as
there is very little traffic passing and trees filled with singing birds
surround you. If the weather is not fine enough to sit in the garden then
tea and coffee can be served in the Gallery.
Open daily 10am - 5pm and other times by appointment.
