Tucked away in a small shop in New Street the Honiton Clock Clinic and Barometer Centre is a treasure trove of goodies for anyone even slightly interested in antique clocks. I know from personal experience that what ever your question about clock history or problem with a clock that you own you can find the answer in this shop.

If you own an antique clock then you can have it serviced, restored or repaired by the team of experts in the Honiton Clock Clinic workshop. In addition, you can find clocks from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries to enjoy and buy as well as a wealth of practical clock knowledge from the owners.

This wonderful Aladdin’s cave of antique clocks also has a stock of antique barometers. The Clock Clinic staff can also supply parts and make repairs and restorations of these precision instruments. If you visit the showroom you can view a large selection of barometers (aneroid and mercurial).

You can also enjoy an excellent selection of mantle and bracket clocks (strikers or chimers) of all ages, shapes and sizes. Longcase clocks are available for purchase fully restored, 30 hour and 8 day movements, painted dials, brass dials, flat tops, arched tops and at prices to suit all pockets. All clocks and barometers sold come with a twelve month no quibble guarantee.

Clock Clinic owner David Newton is an expert horologist with a team skilled craftsmen. Whether you are looking to buy a grandmother clock, a carriage clock or a mantle clock there’s sure to be something for you.

Horology is the science and study of timekeeping devices. Clocks, watches, and chronometers are examples of instruments used to measure time. Mr Newton has been working with clocks in Honiton since 1990 and has a wealth of practical experience and knowledge.

Perhaps you already own a cherished family heirloom that’s in need of a little tender, loving care? David and the team have the expertise to clean and repair your clock’s mechanism or to restore the case and dial to their former glory.

You will find excellent, unbiased advice on all aspects of caring for your timepiece whatever its age. A visit is always fascinating and informative, so you’re sure to learn something new every time you call.

With such an amazing array to choose from and talk about you will want to spend time examining individual pieces. On the other hand you may wish to visit to have your own clock cleaned and repaired.
